Terrorism's CBR Threat
Everyday life for first responders is hazardous. One has to think about his own survival while trying to help others. Chemical and Biological Terrorism is here in the US. With the tragedy of the weapon goes the need to be knowledgeable about what made the injuries occur in the first place.
That's what this course is all about, preparation for what will occur. The only thing missing is when. This course attempts to enable first responders to use the information provided as a tool to identify, by displayed symptoms, those terrorist weapons that produce significant injury or death when used as weapons of mass destruction.
After taking this course, you should be able to identify the symptoms leading to an assumption of the type of weapon deployed, start emergency help with precautions based on that assumption and reduce the likelihood of self contamination by the weapon, and be able to assist in decontamination of yourself and others.

Student Comments
This course was very beneficial to me. I am currently employed as an industrial fire chief responsible for a seventeen acre facility. This facility is on a 300-acre site that is valued at almost a half-billion dollars. The department that I work in is responsible for responding to any type of emergency from a fire to a disgruntled member of the public that has entered our site. As the fire chief I am also responsible for training in all of the other disciplines (technical rescue, confined space rescue, security, EMS, etc.) as well. This course is very helpful to me in designing classes for the rest of the emergency responders.
